U.S. Senator Ben Cardin started his political career in the Maryland House of Delegates in 1967. He rose to become Chair of the Ways & Means Committee and then Speaker. He served in the House of Representatives and then U.S. Senate. He is ending this distinguished career as Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
