Cardin Mourns Navy SEALs Lost in Raid on Arabian Sea
Maryland resident Special Operator First Class Christopher J. Chambers, passed away during the incident

WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) released the following statement about two Navy SEALS who who were lost at sea during a raid on a ship carrying weapons components bound for Yemen.

“Myrna and I are grieving over the heartbreaking loss of Special Operator First Class Christopher Chambers from Maryland and Special Operator Second Class Nathan Ingram from Texas. These two Navy SEALs were lost while boarding an illicit ship that was smuggling Iranian weapons,” said Senator Cardin. “After an exhaustive 10-day search, Christopher and Nathan were not located and the Navy changed their status to deceased. Our service members go into harm’s way in order to protect our freedom & democracy. We mourn the loss of both these men and will forever be in their debt.”

Special Operator First Class Chambers was from Cheverly, Maryland and a former swimmer for the University of Maryland.
