WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Special Representative on Anti-Semitism, Racism, and Intolerance for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly, issued the following statements Saturday, as events were unfolding in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“The hate on display in Charlottesville has been horrific and un-American. My heart goes out to the families of those killed. I am united with all those who unambiguously condemn the bigotry and violence. The President must be clear and condemn the hate-filled rhetoric, racist, anti-Semitic, misogynistic, homophobic and xenophobic actions from his supporters.
“Neo-Nazis, KKK, white supremacists and all the haters need to stop. They will not tear our country apart. What is good and just in America is stronger and will prevail.”
