WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, and Kweisi Mfume (all D-Md.) announced $1,239,024 to upgrade Howard County’s bus fleet and bus stop announcement system.
“This new federal investment will help upgrade Howard County’s public transportation network by improving bus service and reliability,” the lawmakers said. “We will continue working to expand and modernize public transit throughout Maryland.”
Funding comes from the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program, which helps replace and rehabilitate buses and related equipment, and construct bus-related facilities, in cities and states across the country.
