Tri-State Community Health Center Gets Check for $1.2 million
Senator Cardin presents the Tri-State Community Health Center in Hancock with a ceremonial check for more than $1.2 million, which was funding included in the economic recovery package for Federally Qualified Health Centers. The Tri-State facility provides health care services for more than 6,600 Marylanders.

Senator Cardin welcomed Senator Barbara A. Mikulski, the senior Senator from Maryland, back to Washington, DC following surgery after breaking her ankle. Senator Mikulski returned to the Senate to vote on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court.

Senator Cardin spoke with veterans at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Southern Maryland. Charlotte Hall is the only veterans home in Maryland, providing skilled nursing and special care for more than 400 veterans. Cardin Presents NOAA Award to Chesapeake Biological Laboratory
Senator Cardin presented the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Honored Institutions Award to the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory (CBL) for their continued partnership with NOAA. CBL was founded in 1925 and is the oldest state-sponsored marine laboratory in Maryland.
